Tenses

Tense-কে বলা হয় ইংরেজি ভাষার প্রাণ। কারণ Tense এর যথার্থ জ্ঞান ছাড়া শুদ্ধ ইংরেজি বলা ও লেখা যেমন অসম্ভব তেমনি এর সঠিক অর্থ অনুধাবন করাও কষ্টকর। প্রায় সব প্রতিযোগিতামূলক পরীক্ষায় Tense এর ওপর প্রশ্ন থাকলেও আমরা তা বারবার ভুল করে থাকি। এর প্রধান কারন প্রথমত, Tense সম্পর্কে Clear Concept-এর অভাব। দ্বিতীয়ত, বাংলা ভাষার মাধ্যমে সনাতন পদ্ধতিতে Tense শেখা। শুধু পরীক্ষার জন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ এমন সব Tense এর একটি ব্যতিক্রমধর্মী আলোচনা এখানে তুলে ধরা হলো। আশাকরি আপনারা অনেক উপকৃত হবেন।

প্রথমে আমরা The Present Indefinite Tense সম্পর্কে আলোচনা করবো:

The Present Indefinite Tense: অভ্যাসগতভাবে, সাধারণ সত্য বা চিরন্তর সত্য হিসেবে আমাদের চারপাশে যেসব কজ অহরহ ঘটে, সেসব কাজকে  Present Indefinite Tense দ্বারা প্রকাশ করা হয়। লক্ষণীয় যে, এসব কাজ বলার সময় ঘটে না অর্থাৎ নির্দিষ্ট কোনো সময়ের সাথে এর সম্পৃক্ত নয়। অনেকে এই Tense কে Timeless Tense ও বলে থাকেন।

ব্যাখ্যা: যদি কোনো বাক্যের মধ্যে often থাকে তাহলে বাক্যটি Present Indefinite Tense হয়। বাক্যের ‍Subject Stories plural হওয়ায় verb has না হয়ে have হবে।

Ex: I shall do the work.

Future Continuous Tense

Structure: Subject+shall/will+be+g~j Verb Gi Present form Gi ing+evKx Ask|

Ex: I shall be reading the book.

Future Perfect Tense

Structure: Sub+shall have/ will have+g~j verb Gi past participle form + evKx Ask|

Ex: I will have gone home. Choose the correct.
